Michael Levine 997d51f3dc libstdc++: Fix std::ranges::iota is not included in numeric [PR108760]
Before this patch, using std::ranges::iota required including
<algorithm> when it should have been sufficient to only include
<numeric>.

For the backport to the release branch ranges::iota is defined in
<bits/ranges_algobase.h> so that it's available in both <numeric> and
<algorithm>. This avoids breaking code that compiles successfully using
existing releases where <algorithm> defines ranges::iota.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	PR libstdc++/108760
	* include/bits/ranges_algo.h (ranges::out_value_result)
	(ranges::iota_result, ranges::__iota_fn, ranges::iota): Move to
	<bits/ranges_algobase.h>.
	* include/bits/ranges_algobase.h (ranges::out_value_result):
	(ranges::iota_result, ranges::__iota_fn, ranges::iota): Move to

	* testsuite/25_algorithms/iota/1.cc: Renamed to ...

Jonathan Wakely dc79eba72b libstdc++: Fix uses of non-reserved names in headers
The non-reserved names 'val' and 'dest' were being used in our headers
but haven't been added to the 17_intro/names.cc test. That's because
they are used by <asm-generic/posix_types.h> and <netinet/tcp.h>

Patrick Palka 2786064d91 libstdc++: Move ranges algos used by <ranges> into ranges_util.h
The <ranges> header defines simplified copies of some ranges algorithms
in order to avoid including the entirety of ranges_algo.h. A subsequent
patch is going to want to use ranges::search in <ranges> as well, and
that algorithm is more complicated compared to the other copied ones.

So rather than additionally copying ranges::search into <ranges>, this
patch splits out all the ranges algos used by <ranges> (including
ranges::search) from ranges_algo.h to ranges_util.h, and deletes the
simplified copies in <ranges>. This seems like the best place to
put these algorithms, as ranges_util.h is currently included only from
<ranges> and ranges_algo.h.

Patrick Palka 0614bbbe59 libstdc++: Avoid hard error in ranges::unique_copy [PR100770]
Here, in the constexpr if condition within ranges::unique_copy, when
input_iterator<_Out> isn't satisfied we must avoid substituting into
iter_value_t<_Out> because the latter isn't necessarily well-formed
then. To that end, this patch factors out the condition into a concept
and uses it throughout.

This patch also makes the definition of our testsuite
output_iterator_wrapper more minimal by setting its value_type, pointer
and reference member types to void. This means our existing tests for
unique_copy already exercise the fix for this bug, so we don't need
to add another test. The only other fallout of this testsuite iterator
change appears in std/ranges/range.cc, where the use of range_value_t
on a test_output_range is now ill-formed.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	* include/bits/ranges_algo.h (__detail::__can_reread_output):
	Factor out this concept from ...
	(__unique_copy_fn::operator()): ... here. Use the concept

Patrick Palka d91e7eab3a libstdc++: Fix various bugs in ranges_algo.h [PR100187, ...]
This fixes some bugs with our ranges algorithms in uncommon situations,
such as when the return type of a predicate is a non-copyable class type
that's implicitly convertible to bool (PR100187), when a comparison
predicate isn't invocable as an rvalue (PR100237), and when the return
type of a projection function is non-copyable (PR100249).

This also fixes PR100287, which reports that we're moving __first twice

Patrick Palka 8661f4faa8 libstdc++: Fix ranges::search_n for random access iterators [PR97828]
My ranges transcription of the std::search_n implementation for random
access iterators missed a crucial part of the algorithm which the
existing tests didn't exercise. When __remainder is less than __count
at the start of an iteration of the outer while loop, it means we're
continuing a partial match of __count - __remainder elements from the
previous iteration. If at the end of the iteration we don't complete
this partial match, we need to reset __remainder so that it's only
offset by the size of the most recent partial match before starting the
next iteration.

This patch fixes this appropriately, mirroring how it's done in the
corresponding std::search_n implementation.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	PR libstdc++/97828
	* include/bits/ranges_algo.h (__search_n_fn::operator()): Check
	random_access_iterator before using the backtracking

Jonathan Wakely 23f75da95f libstdc++: Fix non-reserved names in headers
My recent changes to std::exception_ptr moved some members to be inline
in the header but didn't replace the variable names with reserved names.

The "tmp" variable must be fixed. The "other" parameter is actually a
reserved name because of std::allocator<T>::rebind<U>::other but should
be fixed anyway.

There are also some bad uses of "ForwardIterator" in <ranges>.

There's also a "il" parameter in a std::seed_seq constructor in <random>
which is only reserved since C++14.

Jonathan Wakely 160061ac10 libstdc++: Introduce new headers for C++20 ranges components
This introduces two new headers:

<bits/ranges_base.h> defines the minimal components needed
for using C++20 ranges (customization point objects such as
std::ranges::begin, concepts such as std::ranges::range, etc.)

<bits/ranges_util.h> includes <bits/ranges_base.h> and additionally
defines subrange, which is needed by <bits/ranges_algo.h>.

Most of the content of <bits/ranges_base.h> was previously defined in
<bits/range_access.h>, but a few pieces were only defined in <ranges>.
This meant the entire <ranges> header was needed in <algorithm> and
<memory>, even though they don't use all the range adaptors.

By moving the ranges components out of <bits/range_access.h> that file
is left defining just the contents of [iterator.range] i.e. std::begin,
std::end, std::size etc. and not C++20 ranges components.

For consistency with other C++20 ranges headers, <bits/range_cmp.h> is
renamed to <bits/ranges_cmp.h>.

Jonathan Wakely 2f983fa690 libstdc++: Fix three-way comparison for std::array [PR 96851]
The spaceship operator for std::array uses memcmp when the
__is_byte<value_type> trait is true, but memcmp isn't usable in
constexpr contexts. Also, memcmp should only be used for unsigned byte
types, because it gives the wrong answer for signed chars with negative
values.

We can simply check std::is_constant_evaluated() so that we don't use
memcmp during constant evaluation.

To fix the problem of using memcmp for inappropriate types, this patch
adds new __is_memcmp_ordered and __is_memcmp_ordered_with traits. These
say whether using memcmp will give the right answer for ordering
operations such as lexicographical_compare and three-way comparisons.
The new traits can be used in several places, and can also be used to
implement my suggestion in PR 93059 comment 37 to use memcmp for
unsigned integers larger than one byte on big endian targets.

Patrick Palka a73051a0ea libstdc++: Fix some ranges algos optimizations [PR95578]
ranges::copy and a number of other ranges algorithms have unwrapping
optimizations for iterators of type __normal_iterator, move_iterator and
reverse_iterator. But in the checks that guard these optimizations we
currently only test that the iterator of the iterator/sentinel pair has
the appropriate type before proceeding with the corresponding
optimization, and do not also test the sentinel type.

This breaks the testcase in this PR because this testcase constructs via
range adaptors a range whose begin() is a __normal_iterator and whose
end() is a custom sentinel type, and then performs ranges::copy on it.
From there we bogusly perform the __normal_iterator unwrapping
optimization on this iterator/sentinel pair, which immediately leads to
a constraint failure since the custom sentinel type does not model
sentinel_for<int*>.

This patch fixes this issue by refining each of the problematic checks
to also test that the iterator and sentinel types are the same before
applying the corresponding unwrapping optimization. Along the way, some
code simplifications are made.

libstdc++-v3/ChangeLog:

	PR libstdc++/95578
	* include/bits/ranges_algo.h (__lexicographical_compare_fn):

Jonathan Wakely 462f6c2041 libstdc++: Workaround is_trivially_copyable<volatile T> (PR 94013)
Several algorithms check the is_trivially_copyable trait to decide
whether to dispatch to memmove or memcmp as an optimization. Since
r271435 (CWG DR 2094) the trait is true for volatile-qualified scalars,
but we can't use memmove or memcmp when the type is volatile. We need to
also check for volatile types.

This is complicated by the fact that in C++20 (but not earlier standards)
iterator_traits<volatile T*>::value_type is T, so we can't just check
whether the value_type is volatile.

The solution in this patch is to introduce new traits __memcpyable and
__memcmpable which combine into a single trait the checks for pointers,
the value types being the same, and the type being trivially copyable
but not volatile-qualified.

	PR libstdc++/94013

Patrick Palka 90fc7b3ce0 libstdc++: Move some ranges algos to a new header <bits/ranges_algobase.h>
This roughly mirrors the existing split between <bits/stl_algo.h> and

Patrick Palka bc4646410a libstdc++: Implement C++20 constrained algorithms
This patch implements the C++20 ranges overloads for the algorithms in
[algorithms]. Most of the algorithms were reimplemented, with each of their
implementations very closely following the existing implementation in
bits/stl_algo.h and bits/stl_algobase.h. The reason for reimplementing most of
the algorithms instead of forwarding to their STL-style overload is because
forwarding cannot be conformantly and efficiently performed for algorithms that
operate on non-random-access iterators. But algorithms that operate on random
access iterators can safely and efficiently be forwarded to the STL-style
implementation, and this patch does so for push_heap, pop_heap, make_heap,
sort_heap, sort, stable_sort, nth_element, inplace_merge and stable_partition.

What's missing from this patch is debug-iterator and container specializations
that are present for some of the STL-style algorithms that need to be ported
over to the ranges algos. I marked them missing at TODO comments. There are
also some other minor outstanding TODOs.

The code that could use the most thorough review is ranges::__copy_or_move,
ranges::__copy_or_move_backward, ranges::__equal and
ranges::__lexicographical_compare. In the tests, I tried to test the interface
of each new overload, as well as the correctness of the new implementation.
