99613159ad Merge tag 'dmaengine-5.17-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/vkoul/dmaengine
Pull dmaengine updates from Vinod Koul:
"A bunch of new support and few updates to drivers:

  New support:
   - DMA_MEMCPY_SG support is bought back as we have a user in Xilinx
     driver
   - Support for TI J721S2 SoC in k3-udma driver
   - Support for Ingenic MDMA and BDMA in the JZ4760
   - Support for Renesas r8a779f0 dmac

  Updates:
   - We are finally getting rid of slave_id, so this brings in the
     changes across tree for that
   - updates for idxd driver
   - at_xdmac driver cleanup"

Best practice for multi-cell property values is to bracket each multi-cell
value.

29f306340f dt-bindings: dma: pl330: Convert to DT schema
Convert the Arm PL330 DMA controller binding to DT schema.

The '#dma-channels' and '#dma-requests' properties are unused as they are
discoverable and are non-standard (the standard props don't have '#'). So
drop them from the binding.

401c151164 dt-bindings: renesas,rcar-dmac: Add r8a779f0 support
Document the compatible value for the Direct Memory Access Controller
blocks in the Renesas R-Car S4-8 (R8A779F0) SoC.

The most visible difference with DMAC blocks on other R-Car SoCs
(except R8A779A0) is the move of the per-channel registers to
a separate register block.

e0699a7595 dt-bindings: dma: ingenic: Add compatible strings for MDMA and BDMA
The JZ4760 and JZ4760B SoCs have two additional DMA controllers: the
MDMA, which only supports memcpy operations, and the BDMA which is
mostly used for transfer between memories and the BCH controller.
The JZ4770 also features the same BDMA as in the JZ4760B, but does not
seem to have a MDMA.

37aef53f5c dt-bindings: dmaengine: bam_dma: Add "powered remotely" mode
In some configurations, the BAM DMA controller is set up by a remote
processor and the local processor can simply start making use of it
without setting up the BAM. This is already supported using the
"qcom,controlled-remotely" property.

However, for some reason another possible configuration is that the
remote processor is responsible for powering up the BAM, but we are
still responsible for initializing it (e.g. resetting it etc). Add
a "qcom,powered-remotely" property to describe that configuration.

ef94b0413b dt-bindings: dma: add alternative REQ/ACK protocol selection in stm32-dma
Default REQ/ACK protocol consists in maintaining ACK signal up to the

In case of alternative REQ/ACK protocol, ACK de-assertion does not wait the

Due to a possible DMA stream lock when transferring data to/from STM32

972d6a7dce dt-bindings: Drop redundant minItems/maxItems
If a property has an 'items' list, then a 'minItems' or 'maxItems' with the
same size as the list is redundant and can be dropped. Note that is DT
schema specific behavior and not standard json-schema behavior. The tooling
will fixup the final schema adding any unspecified minItems/maxItems.

This condition is partially checked with the meta-schema already, but
only if both 'minItems' and 'maxItems' are equal to the 'items' length.
An improved meta-schema is pending.

28ffe8bf90 dt-bindings: Clean-up undocumented compatible strings
Adding checks for undocumented compatible strings reveals a bunch of
warnings in the DT binding examples. Fix the cases which are typos, just
a mismatch between the schema and the example, or aren't documented at all.
In a couple of cases, fixing the compatible revealed some schema errors
which are fixed.

There's a bunch of others remaining after this which have bindings, but
those aren't converted to schema yet.
